ITE’s CIM Group provides resident engineering and inspection (REI) on a range of projects, including highways and bridges, bridge painting, and ITS installation. In the last 10 years, the CIMG has completed over 50 projects with construction costs ranging from $1 million to $160 million, serving as a prime, JV partner, and subconsultant.
Headed by an experienced construction manager, the CIM Group boasts five resident engineers, four chief inspectors, three office engineers, and over 30 inspectors of various NICET levels. Our scheduling engineers utilize the most comprehensive project tracking software such as Primavera Project Planner and SureTrak Project Manager.
ITE’s CIM Group provides clients with project scheduling, cost estimating, cost control, progress monitoring/reporting, change-order review, payments/document control, and claims assessment litigation.
NYcdot - Rehabilitation of 145th Street Lift Bridge Over the Harlem River, New York, NY
An $80 million project, the rehabilitation of the 145th Street Life Bridge over the Harlem River required the replacement of life spans, construction of new approach spans (prestressed concrete beams), steel replacement, lighting, and approach highway rehabilitation.
Using boats and barges, the lift-span elements were plant-fabricated and installed over the Harlem River. And the project team performed construction inspection both day and night, while keeping bridge traffic on the half-span flowing throughout most of the construction period.
NYSDOT - Elimination of Long Island Railroad Grade Crossing at Mineola, Nassau County, NY
In conjunction with Berger, Lehman Associates, ITE’s CIMG provided construction inspection services for the first phase of this $300 million construction project in NYSDOT’s Region 10. Eliminating an LIRR grade crossing at Herrick’s Road in Mineola, the project team shifted the track alignment to enable the permanent construction work to take place. The project team added an overhead crossing of Herrick’s Road through the combination of a flyover and lowering the existing profile of Herrick’s Road.
Work also included inspection of the contractor’s work and material, extensive community liaison/public relations, office engineering using the NYSDOT CEES program, and contract finalization.
NYSDOT - Cleaning and Painting of 17 Bridges on the Cross Bronx Expressway, Bronx, NY
As the project’s prime consultant, ITE’s CIM GROUP utilized Class A containment to protect workers and the environment during painting operations at 17 bridges spanning the Cross Bronx Expressway. The project team performed pre-blast inspections, post blast inspections, enforced safety measures, and conducted thorough paint inspections to ensure proper coating application in accordance with AMPP standards.
The project team also inspected platform enclosure erection, MPT operations, and lead content exposure for all construction personnel— reviewing periodic blood test reports. The project team successfully implemented AQM, requiring the use of personal protection gear (respirators, coveralls, safety harnesses, etc.) to ensure adherence to safety and standards.
NYSDOT - Construction Inspection for ITS Equipment Repair, Citywide New York, NY
The CIMG provided preventative maintenance repair and replacement construction inspection services for the entire operational ITS system throughout New York City, NYSDOT’s Region 11. That meant addressing all system components including traffic signals, controllers, sensors, fiber optic lines, closed-circuit cameras, variable message signs, vehicle classification, and weather-sensing equipment.
The project team also diagnosed and performed remedial repair work to address extant problems and restore the system to optimal operation. ITE’s CIMG also developed new equipment inventory logging and control software that empowered NYSDOT field supervisors to track all stored, installed, and repaired equipment.
NYSDOT - Rehab/Resurfacing of I-684/Route 120 to Tamarack Swamp, West Chester County, NY
In NYSDOT Region 8, ITE’s CIMG performed construction inspection and contract administration for the $18 million rehabilitation and resurfacing of a section of I-684/Route 120. The work included inspection of paving operations, erosion control, ITS installation, and quality inspection of bridge construction.
In addition, the project team also did quite a lot more including asphalt placement inspection, material testing, MOT and erosion-control operations, fiber optic cable placement, CCTV cameras, multiple Ethernet switch splice enclosures, daily reports, and records using the NYSDOT Site Management system.
Port Authority of New York & New Jersey - On-Call Construction Management Services, NY/NJ
The CIMG provided construction management and quality control inspection services for numerous projects at Port Authority owned airports and marine terminals. Projects included new construction at JFK and Newark Airports and for marine terminals in Brooklyn, Port Ivory (Staten Island), and Elizabeth, NJ. The engagement also covered a variety of projects including marine structures, airport pavements, building structures, site work, multistory garages, drainage, fiber optic cabling, security infrastructure, CPM Scheduling, and material testing.
